COASTAL STUDY

All year, I've been oscillating between oils and acrylic trying to decide which one I liked best.
I haven't been able to decide but this one done today is a combination of both. The underpainting and value study was done in acrylics and the colour was applied in oils. 16x20" on canvas. Hope you like the result. Comments welcome. Brian

Corner Grocer

Of my three latest postings I was surprised by what happened to this one in low lighting. The image really seems to emerge as the lights dim. Wish that I knew how this happened but I suppose that Brian would tell me that I just got out of the way!

wish I'd asked for your number

This is my ode to the personal ads with a couple meeting at a coffee shop, baring their souls, forgetting to exchange numbers and then the inevitable personal ad..."wish that I'd asked for your number..."

Temple Tree

This is a wee 6x8 of a familiar Chinatown scene.

Yellow Tug

Hello everyone,
This is my latest. 18 x 36 acrylic on canvas.
This tug is one of about 6 with the same company colours that operate out in front of Victoria hauling barges of sand or gravel from a local pit. I took the photo for this painting while out fishing this summer and was very fortunate to have everything line up just right. The image here came out a bit dark so I may try to take another.
C & C welcome.
