Did this earlier today..about 1/2 hour oil 16x20" used only 2 colors and tried to get a bit of the mood on this dismal day in the industrial area of town..(from photo)...maybe a bit depressing, but i enjoyed all the greys here. Brian

Single Handed

Heres another little study. Sorry all, can't get enough of these boxing gloves. I enjoyed how I could get lost edges with the colour of the linen. Playing with value, and subltle hue. 12X12 oil Was happy it took about and hour, I guess it's faster the more intimate one is with their subject.

OK here is the second version. 18X36 oil I still need to darken the value on the right glove bottom, and paint the peg. But I captured what I set out to do, warmer, on a dark ground.

Here's a study I did that went wrong. The good news is I know where, and don't really mind, and I had fun. Reminds me a bit of those 70's black velvet paintings!! Ha!! I'll try it again tomorrow night a differant way.
