Wetlands Series #1

I've been painting a lot lately. But finally got to what I have wanted to paint. This is the second attempt. I like it much better than the first. Giving a lot of thought to "mark making" or how I lay down paint. This is a great subject to play with different methods. I am working on 3 of these simultaneously. I had a lot of fun...it's been awhile since I had fun. feels good. This is oil 16X20 Would appreciate any feed back.

"Lucy's Lipstick"

My husband had an Aunt Lucy who wore red lipstick and chased him when he was little trying to kiss him. He didn't want that red lipstick on him! So, this is in honor of Lucy and her lipstick. Thanks for looking!

"Condiments"

Another still life study - I did use the seven step method on this one, the only difference being that I worked from life instead of a photo reference. Even though there is not much of the burnt sienna showing through, I can see that it definitely added more form and substance to the painting. Thanks for looking!

Today's Efforts.. Tucson Mountains - Dusk 24x30

Still Life Study

I didn't use the seven step method with this one, but I thought I would post it here anyway because it is a study in color placement and how putting the right colors in the right spots creates form, and I think that is stressed in the seven step method, too. It is not elaborate by any means, just a plain little bottle of baby powder. Comments or suggestions are welcome!
