18x24" acrylic. It's been a month for me since I've painted. I thought I'd get back into it with these landscapes I enjoy a lot. I felt a little shaky but had a great time painting again. Would love some feedback.

BOOK COVER

OK, this one was a quick little painting done today for my book publisher who sent me a sketch of what they wanted. I set up a still life based on a sketch and did this little painting...16x20" acrylic.
The book is titled "Get Straight to It: ACRYLIC PAINTING". Was fun to do. They wanted the background left white and will probably adjust the color slightly.Comments welcome, Brian

The Gorge

Hello fello bloggers. Went out this morning and painted this. It really is my first attempt at Plein Air. I went out yesterday but was just learning to set up my gear. I'm not in love with it, but really enjoyed painting outside, and the gear, and being in nature. Taos, New Mexico has endless vistas, I'm not sure I will ever be a landscape painter. But I like trying. The palette is so differant for me. I think it's 12"X20"

Baha'i Shrine 2

This is the same painting as the one at the top of the blog. Both were don with Golden Open acrylics.
I was varnishing the first one and all the paint lifted off. I contacted Golden, they apologized for not making it clear to customers to wait 30days before varnishing and they are sending me a bunch of paints. Anyways, I sanded off as much paint as I could on the first one and painted it again, but this time its a little darker and not so red, as I didn't have the underpainting showing through. Comments welcome. Brian

Steven inspired me to post paintings from the workshop too. Thanks again Brian--what an awesome time! That's Steven by the way in my 45 min exercise. The top one doesn't feel like it totally hangs together but not sure why. As always, comments and critcism welcome.
