This is the first painting I have posted here, my fifth painting since Brian came to Boone (I'm just a beginner). It is an 11 x 14 Acrylic. Thanks for looking, Brett
I thought it was time I got a painting on the blog, so here's my latest. 16x20 acrylic. I like it OK. I got a little help from Elliot when I felt it was looking rather flat. Overall I'm pretty pleased but it was a good lesson in using variations of color and keeping my brushstrokes loose. Would love any comments/feedback.
This is a little 11 x 14" I did last night. It's from a picture post ice storm that I took leaving my office about a month ago. I generally like how it turned out but think it could be improved. Does it look a little scratchy? Do I look stingy with paint?
When I was in Boone, doing workshops, I met so many wonderful people. This was an awesome folk artist and a brilliant imitator! He worked at "BACK YARD BURGERS", a restaurant owned by my good friend Steve Prewitt, doing dishes and pots and only did his art for fun. He loved his job and everyone in the restaurant including the customers loves him. When I came across the picture I just had to paint it. 16x20"oil/canvas...done with a big brush. Comments welcome. Brian
I went out early this morning, just got back This area is about a mile from where i live called Aliso Springs This one is 12x16 oil/canvas. With this one i wanted to capture the feeling of morning light. Thanks for looking
This is a 30x40" canvas that was already painted on and I wasn't happy with the painting, so I painted over it very quickly. I think this image was taken in Boone NC. Not sure if I'm finished or not so any suggestions for improvements are welcome. oil/canvas. Brian
thanks for your ideas Jeffery, put a few tree shadows in. Did some work on the sky and keyed up the trees a bit. Thanks for commenting and thanks Dave for your generous remarks. Brian
This is a more accurate photo of Julia Clarks painting which she posted a while back. The original picture needed cropping to really show it off . Anyway, this is it, an awesome painting Julia! Brian
