This is a 12"x12" acrylic study of a catalog cover. It was different for me but fun to do.

End Of The Line

I thought it was time I got a painting on the blog, so here's my latest. 16x20 acrylic. I like it OK. I got a little help from Elliot when I felt it was looking rather flat. Overall I'm pretty pleased but it was a good lesson in using variations of color and keeping my brushstrokes loose. Would love any comments/feedback.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

This is a little 11 x 14" I did last night. It's from a picture post ice storm that I took leaving my office about a month ago. I generally like how it turned out but think it could be improved. Does it look a little scratchy? Do I look stingy with paint?

7-UP

FOLK ARTIST

When I was in Boone, doing workshops, I met so many wonderful people. This was an awesome folk artist and a brilliant imitator! He worked at "BACK YARD BURGERS", a restaurant owned by my good friend Steve Prewitt, doing dishes and pots and only did his art for fun. He loved his job and everyone in the restaurant including the customers loves him. When I came across the picture I just had to paint it. 16x20"oil/canvas...done with a big brush. Comments welcome. thanks for your ideas Jeffery, put a few tree shadows in. Did some work on the sky and keyed up the trees a bit. Thanks for commenting and thanks Dave for your generous remarks. Brian
