Cala Lily

Finished today, tried something new, no burnt sienna "underpainting" just a quick sketch then painted. A good exercise but will go back to the burnt sienna value study as makes it easier to see the shapes. Comments welcome. 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas. Thanks Sharka

  2. Thank you Brian! I did a yellow wash under the red/orange and it seemed to give that effect which can be seen in the photo as well. I spent the last week checking out the Harmony Arts Festival and seeing so many different painters at work was very inspiring. It was also great to see Alan Wylie, Janice Robertson and Robert Genn doing plein aire last Saturday - their work is "awesome". Hope your well and have a great time in Camrose, Alberta next weekend.
