BRIDGES

Just got back from a 5-day workshop on Quadra Island... had so much fun...did some different kinds of paintings, this one is a little fauve painting 16x20" acrylic....the one at the top of the blog is a bit more traditional. Comments welcomed. Brian

  1. Love the colors in this one and in Zebra. Bridges is so bright and cheery. It looks like it was really fun to paint. Brings a smile :-). Well done!

  2. Hey Brian! It's great to see you back on the blog. I was starting to worry a little--I thought maybe you were sick or had a family emergency or something. I'm glad to know you were just busy with a workshop! Did you teach 7 Steps or 4?

I hope you'll post other photos from the workshop.

This Bridges painting is exciting--fearless! It challenges more than even some of your other fauves... it's less "pretty" I guess. I think that's part of the excitement though. Did you tint the canvas?

  3. hi Elliot, thanks for your comments here. No tinting on this painting, went in directly on white canvas, started by laying in big areas of color first, them, mapping out the big shapes. Yes, its not all that pretty, but it works for me and happened very fast.
    Cheers, Brian
