FORD TRACTOR

You just don't see many of these anymore! When I was young every farm had one! This was a small painting done today 16x20" acrylic / canvas. Comments welcomed! Brian

  1. Hi Brian! I want to say my wife laid into to me in no uncertain terms for the last comment I made. To personal and off track. I apologize for that.

As for feedback to this painting we don't always paint what we know. To evoke a feeling in a painting there has to be a story in the composition or with colors. this painting I feel is sitting right on the fence. You are a true master of color if you don't believe me have a look at your best paintings. With all your experience it may be better to focus on color, and let the rest take care of itself.

  2. Reminds me of one at my grandfathers farm. His was red, a Massey Ferguson I think. Good heavens that was a loooooong while ago.
I like the simplicity of this one Brian and the combinations of lights and darks. Nice subtle shades in the light areas.

Also wanted to mention that I was picking up some supplies the other day and was able to take in your paintings up close and personal. As they say in the song, "ain't nothin' like the real thing baby!"
    Really wonderful work!!

  3. My grandfather had one like that so many many years ago.

Love the simplicity of this one Brian and the combinations of light and dark. Lovely shade varations in the light areas as well.

Also, I was in getting some supplies the other day and had a chance to get up close and personal with your paintings. As they say in the song, "ain't nothin, like the real thing baby!"
    Really wonderful work Brian!

  4. Hi Brian,

It's the repeated shapes of circles and the warm colors that appeal to me in this one.
