Adirondack Abstraction

16x20" Acrylic on canvas.

I'm getting fed up doing these landscape abstractions. I'm going back to the Seven Steps method of Brian's for the next painting which will be a big one 24x48" with the brush. This is the only canvas I have left because I ran out of canvas experimenting and I don't feel like running out and buying any more today. My wife and I like the picture and if I can pull it off I will try to sell it to her for the price of a bingo session but she is a really tough sell.

Cherry Suite

This is a work in progress...18x24 oil on canvas. I wanted to give oil a try and something different -comical and fun. This is one of Victoria's character homes, built in 1890 on Catherine Street. What do you think? Sharka :)

This is one i finished up tonite

24x24" acrylic. I'd been wanting to set up these boots of mine in a still life for some time. I was just waiting to break them in enough.
I did try to tone the white down focusing on warm and cool. I don't think I did great, but the painting does look better. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to photograph this one in natural light, so part of the difference is due to different light. Anyway, thanks for the help.

MUSTANGS

Don't know what possessed me here to paint this as I'm not really a sports fan, but loved the colors of the image and after a few fauvy paintings, wanted to try something more representational. Comments welcomed. 20x24" oil/board.

Going With The Flow

24x30" Acrylic on canvas.
Photo Reference, lisilk WetCanvas.com

Painting with the brush or knife is the question for me now. With the brush the painting flows and are finished in a short time. With the knife it's always a struggle and takes a lot longer to finish. I know with the knife I will eventually paint really beautiful paintings. Ditto with the brush. It's like walking on a fence. Not always easy making decisions. I think I will go with my feelings and go with the brush for now.

This is an 18x24" acrylic. Pretty safe but was in the mood for something safer. This was from a photo I took on a trip to the NC coast. It was a little vacation to return there with a painting.
