24x24" acrylic. I'd been wanting to set up these boots of mine in a still life for some time. I was just waiting to break them in enough.
Now your cookin' Elliot, this is so much more confident and the colors are goregous and bold. As Ralph mentioned , the painterliness works beautifully here. Got to be one of your best! Love it!
They really look new!!! I love this green and this red together. That's really funny to recognize the painter without looking at the name. And we feel you feel good in this one (except your feet!!!)
Keep coming back for another look Elliot, just love this and especially love those goregeous colors. Also the edge of the table or wall is very exciting with a bit of a dark link and the swath of turquoise coming below into the red.. Magical!!!
Thanks Brian! Thanks everyone. I definitely think this one worked partly b/c of my "slump" over the past month or or more. Somewhat out of frustration, I just went for it and let-her-rip as they say.
For me, a lot still has to do with the subject. I have a pretty good sense of what "works" for me at this point. I spend a lot of time looking for what I know will work but don't find things all that often. As I grow, I hope to broaden what "works" for me so that successful/exciting paintings are more frequent!
Lovely Elliot! Love the colors and the loose painterly style!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ralph. I took your advice on the colors.

Just get back into the colors which you definitely have a way with and are becoming master of, and you will create beauty beyond your wildest dreams.
