This is an 18x24" acrylic. Pretty safe but was in the mood for something safer. This was from a photo I took on a trip to the NC coast. It was a little vacation to return there with a painting.
Not so safe! you always have your special point of view. Did you paint this before? I think I saw this subject in another painting of yours. I like the empty space, the construction, and the colors.
Nice job Elliot , I like it a lot. For a moment, I thought it was one of Julies. A calm soothing painting. I like the pattern of spaces between the pilings, the reflection and the fact you put birds on the sand helps things compositionally. Brian
Hi Elliot! When you compare your recent paintings to Studio Chair With Flowers and Hatpins and some of your other past paintings you are painting no where near your potential. Forgot the beautiful colors and compositions?
Figure out what you were doing then and do it that way. Like the beautiful color and compositions.
No hurry lots of time. Don't push it, just go with the flow. Happy painting!
Wow Ralph, you have a good memory. That's good advice... I just haven't nailed down what exactly I was doing in those. But I agree--I definitely want to paint more like the Studio Chair w/ Flowers.
