16x20" Acrylic on canvas.
I'm getting fed up doing these landscape abstractions. I'm going back to the Seven Steps method of Brian's for the next painting which will be a big one 24x48" with the brush. This is the only canvas I have left because I ran out of canvas experimenting and I don't feel like running out and buying any more today. My wife and I like the picture and if I can pull it off I will try to sell it to her for the price of a bingo session but she is a really tough sell.
Wow! Shimmering with color and light Ralph, I like it a lot. Hope you don't give up on these, I just love the color and vitality here!
ReplyDeleteI like the sky a lot Ralph. and the colors in general. may be the water doesn't look water enough I mean liquid but it looks good in general.
ReplyDeleteNo Brian, I am like you I never give up. I will just take a break and let everything I have learned assimilate and when I come back to landscape abstraction it will be easier and I'll paint better. Thank you for your kind encouragement.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christiane for that comment. I rushed it a little, but I will get back to it later on.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up Ralph. I've really enjoyed you being back on the blog. You seem a lot more positive these days, and I'm really glad for you. I appreciate your openness and honesty.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors a lot in this one. The orange/blue complements really sing. I've learned from Brian that tight values like in this one let the colors speak more.
I admire you for going so bold with these landscape abstractions. It's been inspiring to me. Nonetheless, I look forward to your next 7-stepper!
i like this too Ralph ,its very engaging. Its always the abstract qualities in a landscape that make it exciting for me
