Adirondack Abstraction

16x20" Acrylic on canvas.

I'm getting fed up doing these landscape abstractions. I'm going back to the Seven Steps method of Brian's for the next painting which will be a big one 24x48" with the brush. This is the only canvas I have left because I ran out of canvas experimenting and I don't feel like running out and buying any more today. My wife and I like the picture and if I can pull it off I will try to sell it to her for the price of a bingo session but she is a really tough sell.

  3. No Brian, I am like you I never give up. I will just take a break and let everything I have learned assimilate and when I come back to landscape abstraction it will be easier and I'll paint better. Thank you for your kind encouragement.

  5. You crack me up Ralph. I've really enjoyed you being back on the blog. You seem a lot more positive these days, and I'm really glad for you. I appreciate your openness and honesty.

I like the colors a lot in this one. The orange/blue complements really sing. I've learned from Brian that tight values like in this one let the colors speak more.

I admire you for going so bold with these landscape abstractions. It's been inspiring to me. Nonetheless, I look forward to your next 7-stepper!
