I found this "Flexible Flyer" out in the shed, rode it a couple times, and brought it in to paint. I'm not sure why but I struggled with it a little. It's 18x24".
This is a 24x30". Brian, I think you may have actually witnessed this scene first hand. It was a couple years ago in front of Alpen Acres. It was raining and the girls went out playing in the parking lot.
This is a 24x30" I did from a photo. I splashed paint around and had fun. The flower/vase ended up more squatty than I intended... ohh well.
This is a little still life I set up... Recipe with Chilis. It's 18x24. I like the chilis and the knife. I like the shape of the book. I tried a couple different colors on the pages. I don't know if the composition is weak or what... I've just not really been happy with this one.

My wife was kind enough to sit for this one. It's 16x20". I did it quickly... probably 50 mins or so. It was the 2nd portrait I've done and first from life. There are things I like about it and things I don't. Would love some feedback.

Festival Food 12x16

This is a little one i just finished from some
ref photos i took at the Tumacocori Festival

Thursday, December 10, 2009

This is a 24x30 of a scene in my house. I had to work from a photo because I couldn't fit in the space. I don't why, but I like painting sinks.
This is an 18x24. I guess it's sort of a pop art still life... of some oil cans. I'm not crazy about how it turned out but had fun.

Still Life 16x20

This is one i did today
comments welcome
This is an 18x18" acrylic. It was sort of a one-stroke exercise like you've had us try Brian. I did it in about 45 mins and had a lot of fun. I gotta give a shout out to Steven who did an awesome painting of his own Ecco boots a few years back. As always, I love any C&C.

Slow Going 12x16

One last one for today
comments welcome
I set this one up and painted it on a 18x18". Recognize the painting in the painting? It's Richard Diebenkorn's "Albuquerque". It was fun "painting a painting."

I set up a still life and did the little 16x20" below. I really liked the tangerines, but didn't like the composition. I painted it again on a 24x24" above. This time I liked the composition better but the fruit just isn't as painterly. Ohh well.

This is a 24x30" acrylic I did of my wife's grandfather.
