Lavender for Sale

This is a 12 x 16 acrylic from a photo of a box of lavender bouquets for sale in Provence. The roosters in the corner and on the window sill were models made of pottery. It has really helped focusing on the light and dark values and the shades of color rather than on the items portrayed in the photo (Your seven steps really work, Brian!). And it is fun to see the picture emerge as I add the color and detail.

  1. Brett, nice technical work. You obviously have skill. Be careful not to lose your lights and darks. Also, don't be afraid to let some of the underpainting come through--keep it painterly!
