Done this afternoon, a 20 minute painting on a 24x30" canvas. I love how fast it happened and how simple and whimsical it turned out. Comments welcome. Brian
You're setting speed records Brian! I really love the comp and colors on this one. It is very fun indeed. You probably didn't have time for it but I wonder if a little keying up of lights and darks might even take it to another level.
Thanks Dave Asma and Elliot for commenting here. Elliot, thanks for the advice, here, but I was hoping to keep the values close here so the colors speak a bit more. I'm after some "flatness" in my paintings where just the color does the job, not sure if I'm successful or not but will post more. Cheers, Brian
I really like this one, it has an innocence about it. In the same way Grandma Moses did. Do you know her work? I like the flatness, particularly with out the black outlines.
I can see you enjoyed painting, its expressing that very feeling.
ReplyDeleteIts a happy painting.

ReplyDeleteWoW! I love the colours and the energy that this painting gives off. I also love your abandon and one day, God willing, I will abandon.
