3 pears in a blue plate

acrylic on canvas - 12"/10"

It relax me to paint natures mortes. It changes me from
other paintings harder  to do for me.  It is fun to do.
I like to paint something and have or give and impression
of something else. Like here, for me it is birds flight.
you are free to agree or not... it's a game !

TV

Just had CHEK TV in my studio before lunch filming my work, me painting, and a couple of my workshop students. One of my workshop participants who knew someone at the TV station, suggested they do an article on me and my workshops and to my amazement, they came to the studio, cameras and all and got what they needed.
The clip will be on a show called "ISLAND 30" Airing Friday, Feb. 19th, channel 6 at 6:30PM and again at 10:30pm. All went well and am grateful for the opportunity to share my work, book and workshops. Special thanks to painters Steve Murphy and Ina Beaveridge who offered to come and talk about the workshops.
Below is a 10 minute value study of a painting while being interviewed. 16x20" acrylic/canvas.

This is an 18x18 acrylic. I wanted to try something really abstract and just play with laying down strokes.
This is a 24x30 in acrylic. I wasn't able to get a great photo of this yet but would love some feedback. Specifically, I'm wondering if others see the same issues I do with the figure. Also, not sure if those crossbars throw things off or not.
Everyone has to paint lily pads at some point right? Of course Joanna and I still love your lily pads in our home Brian. This is 18x24" acrylic.

Lac Des Deux Mountagnes

20x30" Acrylic on canvas.
Ile Bizard Quebec.

This beautiful painting was done with a $1.00 pastry brush that I bought at the dollar store.
So go figure when it comes to brushes.

But the funny part about all this I'm only painting with a painting knife now. The next painting I will post has been done only with a painting knife.

What I really want to say about all this, is I really try to get out of the way and let God make the decisions and do the painting. Learned that from your book Brian.
