ENLARGING PHOTOS

Hi everyone, thanks Ralph for asking the question about enlarging your images here on the blog. It's very easy to do. Next time you post an image , do the following:

-go to your dashboard
-click on 'create post' or 'new post'
-when the window pops up fill in the info and click on the image icon in the toolbar
-another window will open with the parameters and file download buttons
-on the right, you will notice 'image sizes' with 3 possible options
-select 'large'
-you may also want to check the box that says "use every time"
-submit your info and publish and your done!

Any more questions or 'how to's with the blog, please let me know.
Cheers, Brian
24 x 30 acrylic. This is from Edmisten Rd near my house... you did a painting from Edmisten Rd, remember that Brian? Anyway, I haven't really done a landscape like this before, so it was a good exercise to stretch a little. C&C welcome.

THE TREK HOME

Did this little one last night (16x20" acrylic/canvas). It started out being just another snow scene which I'm getting a little tired of and probably you are too. Anyways, the painting just wasn't working and I kept visualizing a red house in the background, but kept insisting it not be there, cause I wanted just raw nature. Anyways, after a bit of a frustrating evening, I thought what the heck and put the house in there and the figure walking up the drive just for fun. that turned it into a romantic little painting that I'm quite fond of the more I look at it. Hope you like it too. Comments welcome. Brian

MY STREET

Here's a little 16x20" done this afternoon. This was the view down my street a few days ago after a big snowfall. I wanted to try a little something other than just snow and trees. Not sure how I am about it, but will live with it for a bit. Comments welcome. Brian
Hi there, I have recently done Brian's workshop. This is one of the images I was working with during the workshop. I am experimenting with color with this version, it is small, 10x14. I did this one to see what happens with colors and how to get specific colors before I get to the big one ( which is still in its value stage). I did not do much with the faces or the hands, other than remove some of the paint to give the impression of the shapes and features.
I would appreciate any comments anyone may have.
I have enjoyed seeing what people are doing and posting to the blog. - Joy

18x24" acrylic. Even though I am a Christian, I never in a million years would have thought I'd even consider trying this... but a local church sponsored an unusual contest and for some reason it caught my attention. Partly, I was curious to see how this style would translate. Partly, I don't know that I've ever seen a contemporary painting depticting Jesus that I didn't find ridiculous. In the end, it was a fun exercise and I like the result. This is the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist. I'm sure there's room for improvement. C&C welcome.
