  1. Hello,
I like this, I really like the composition, the cool blue shadows of the grass, the reds dropped in, and the feel of distance. The only thing that's not as harmonious for me is the center tower. If I cover it with my finger,( a trick I was taught) I feel the peice is softer and stronger. If you know what I mean.

  2. You may be right there Julie, I've decided to do some more things with this. I love the sky color so much I think Im going to change the bright colors of the snow some and create a bit more 'mood' in the piece. I'll repost soon. Brian

  3. I reposted the painting after darkening the values of the snow some. I also dampened down the color a bit on the right silo. I wanted to create a softer light and not so harsh. Hope you like it. Brian

  7. Hi Brian,

I love the composition and lines of this painting. Is this from a photo? Where is this farm? and did you change anything from the original reference?

  8. Thanks Carol for your comments on all these. This one is from a photo but I'm not sure of the location...out east somewhere I think. The only thing I chaged was to darken the snow in most areas. Brian
