Wasn'nt satisfied tried again this time with my ardent love for VanGogh in mind. comments welcome. 12x14.
Hi Asma, Keep at your VanGogh idea. I have had a collagr teacher that wanted his students to paint with the influence of someone famous. VanGogh is wonderful and fun--his colors are wild (not necessarily the color of whatever he is painting)and intense, his paint is applied very thick, and a lot of his shapes are whacky. You have probably looked at a lot of his work. Look and look again and give yourself the freedom to take chances like he did. My son Steven, who has a fine art degree, says "it is all about the process and not the finished product" I am certainly not there yet but it is certainly my goal. Sorry to go on so long. I probably sound preachy but my desire is to encourage.
Thanks Brian on the observation I will make a note of that. It could be my camera too the colors coming through that way. Page I cannot tell you how much I understand and relate to what you have said. I absolutely adore Vangogh with a passion. I have books books about him which i read, admire and just mersmirize about. I appreciate those kind words of encouragement thankyou so much!
I wonder if some hits of brighter color would make it pop a bit more. I really like this one... the colors are just a bit dull (I don't know anything about oils, but I understand they can get dull and muddy if you're not careful). Anyway, picking up on what Page was saying, I wonder if some loose hits of color in the table and maybe some more of that awesome blue you have there brought up higher would be fun.
Thanks Elliot will try to add a bit more color. probably its something i have to consciously need to work on. does nt come naturaly to me ....while i love how Brian's vibrancy is so exciting.
Hi again Asmal, I like this one though you still have a bit of washed out color on the lower portion. Brian
