  1. Hi again Asmal, I like this one though you still have a bit of washed out color on the lower portion. Brian

  2. Hi Asma,
Keep at your VanGogh idea. I have had a collagr teacher that wanted his students to paint with the influence of someone famous. VanGogh is wonderful and fun--his colors are wild (not necessarily the color of whatever he is painting)and intense, his paint is applied very thick, and a lot of his shapes are whacky. You have probably looked at a lot of his work. Look and look again and give yourself the freedom to take chances like he did. My son Steven, who has a fine art degree, says "it is all about the process and not the finished product" I am certainly not there yet but it is certainly my goal.
Sorry to go on so long. I probably sound preachy but my desire is to encourage.

  3. Thanks Brian on the observation I will make a note of that. It could be my camera too the colors coming through that way.
Page I cannot tell you how much I understand and relate to what you have said. I absolutely adore Vangogh with a passion. I have books books about him which i read, admire and just mersmirize about. I appreciate those kind words of encouragement thankyou so much!

  4. I wonder if some hits of brighter color would make it pop a bit more. I really like this one... the colors are just a bit dull (I don't know anything about oils, but I understand they can get dull and muddy if you're not careful). Anyway, picking up on what Page was saying, I wonder if some loose hits of color in the table and maybe some more of that awesome blue you have there brought up higher would be fun.
