Great little painting here Julie. I love the warm/cool tones in this one and the strength of the 'values'. The diminishing light over on the right tend to take my eye off the canvas. If you darkend the vertical line below the bar at that point, it might take the eye into the foreground chairs and around again. Or , if you had a dark vertical , maybe in the corner of the room above the bar, leading the eye upward and around, that would help to keep the eye in the painting. Despite that, I like this one a lot. Brian
Hi Julie, your paintings always catch me by suprize, takes me a moment to understand whats happening, its like opening a lovely box of chocolates! very interesting and captivating.

Hey Julie, love this one. Your interior spaces are great. Brian's comment is brilliant--I never would have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteI do find the bartender's face a little distracting. The eye and nose? shadows seem a bit much and make it appear a little skull-like.
Border lining on creative genius? I would say so!
ReplyDeleteLovely color harmmony here, well done
