Wow Asma, you are full of surprises. This is very unusual... in a very good way. Very engaging. The colors are absolutely gorgeous. I think a lot of people would be thrilled to own this one. Here's a really picky little thought... the upper lip/mouth of the figure seems not quite right to me (a little distracting). Not sure, but it feels like there should be a little more shadow cast from the nose or something. Others may not feel the same way--I just found it a small distraction from an absolutely beautiful painting.
When I first saw this, I wasn't sure who painted it and thought we had a new contributor on the blog. The colors are just gorgeous Asma and the patterns in the robe are wonderfully contrasted by the calm blue sky. I also love the shading and values in the robe as well as the visual impact of the piece. Very exciting and thought-provoking painting Asma! Brian
Thanks Ralph,Elliot and Brian. Glad you all like it. Yes Ralph I remember you mentioned to me earlier as well about applying thicker paint, but i not so sure if thats the right color, as i do back often to correct it. Applying thick would mean it wont dry and thats that. I will try it will come across more richer i know. Elliot i feel the same way about the upper lip will do something thanks. Brian your apprciation takes me miles. thanks so much.
Very subliminal and exciting! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou are painting in oil. Consider using thicker paint. Like loading up your brush putting it down and leaving it there.
Happy Painting Asma.
