Turning

It's only fitting that I should call this Turning, on a night history was made. Here is what I've been up to lately. 8'X3' acrylic (two panels)

  3. Awesome scale on this one Julie--I'm really impressed! I'd like to try something that big but haven't yet. I really like the colors. I do wonder if a little blue in the sky and then some more step 7... keying up lights and darks would take it to the next level. It's fun to see in context--with you and your studio.

  4. Ralph, Asma and Elliot, thanks for your comments. It was a bit of an undertaking because of the size, but I didn't want to be afraid of a big piece, and I find I am much looser when it is big. The values were amazingly similar, as it was an overcast day. I am pleased with the feel of it, but you need such long viewing distance in order to capture it's full affect.

  5. Great work here Julie, gorgeous color and very lively piece. Good for you for attempting something so huge! Love all the cool colors on the left side and Elliots idea of a touch more blue there in the sky is a good one. Also, the though struck me that on the right side, just a hit of a brighter orange/yellow would really increase the excitement on that side. Irregardless, a wonderful job here, it will look stunning on someones wall...nice to see a pic of you too! Brian

  6. Thanks Brian,
I packed it all away, because I have a client coming over....he just cancelled. Soo I may go back at it and try both of your recommendations. It's always great to get your opinions, as I feel I get blind after awhile, and I've been staring at it for a couple of days. Thanks again

  7. Oh, by the way Julie, in seeing a larger view of the second image, I noticed that your brushes look almost as disgusting as mine!!!! Brian
