Not sure how I feel about this, been staring at it too long....maybe that's a bad sign. Oil 48X36

  1. Wow Julie! This is fantastic. I love the warm and cool colors here. Must be real impressive in real life. One thing though, the warm tones of the concrete in the bridge tend to cut the painting in two. If you added a few cooler blue greys to that warm area without eliminating it, it would marry the top and bottom of the painting together more. If you put your finger in front of your eyes and just cover the warm tan color, you can see how the top and bottom come together. You still need that warm tan color but not quite so much. Awesome work Julie. Brian

  2. Hey Brian. Ya something with the bridge is not quite "singing" So when you say cooler, on the bridge do you mean same value, cool blueish? I also thought the buildings behind the bridge should drop down in value slightly so that the focus of light is on the bridge. I just got tired.

  3. Hi Julie, can see lots of hard work here. Lots of shapes and angels. Its got of abstract interest to it with subdued tones like your hand is to color. very interesting and absobing painting.

  6. Great work Julie! I really like this one. It reminds of some of your earlier work which had a really lovely distinctive feel to it. Colors are nice and I love the composition.
