SLEEPING DOG


Did this one as a little demo at a workshop this weekend from a picture I took of one of my Boston Terriers.16x20" acrylic/canvas. Comments welcomed. Brian

  3. Thanks Dave and Elliot for your comments on this. Yes , it was fun doing an acrylic again after so many oils...and I liked how the simples abstraction here says it all as Dave mentioned...Brian

  4. Look again Brian!
    There is too much contrast between the black and white making it look like two separate spots. I think the black is to dark and does not have enough detail in it.

    I like the contrast and the abstraction playing together. JUST ENOUGH DETAIL... The underpainting makes a good tonal, value, and hue transition between the darks and lights. Great composition.
