This is my first post to the blog and my second painting. The background in the photo was overexposed and white so was not sure what to do with the background. Please comments. Thanks
hey Barbara, great to see you here on the blog. This is just terrific, I remember the photo in the workshop. You did a wonderful job! I'm so impressed. The background, I would gray that burnt sienna down with a bit of ultramarine blue. Seems a bit loud (chroma) and detracts from all the beautiful warm and cool grays in the figure, but other than than I love it! WELCOME TO THE BLOG!!!! Brian
Welcome, wow. This is great. I can't believe....well I guess I can, believe that this is the first couple of paintings for you Barbara. Brian has a way of bringing out the artist in us. If it were mine i probably would have made the T shirt white, as the jacket is so interesting.
