MOUNTAIN IN COOL LIGHT
After being inspired by Dave's beautiful painting "Arizona Light" , I just had to try a mountain and cloud scene to see if I could pull it off using acrylics and a colder palette.. This one is a 36x36" painting done using a limited palette. I tried to capture the local color for this one. This is about as close to realism as I'm interested in. Comments welcome. Brian

Wow wow wow! That is impressive Brian. Man this is great! There was never any doubt. I knew you would get it together sooner or later. Great job here Brian. You made my Day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful color Brian ,love the greens
ReplyDeleteThanks Ralph and Dave for commenting on this one. Brian
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying this Brian, your dramatic use of darks and lights, which I love about you work, is very evident here! This how I want to paint, dramatic, but not too tight! Thanks for the example.

This is a such a departure for you...really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Brian, I love how you've worked on the clouds, had you not mentioned acrylics looked very much an oil to me.
ReplyDeleteYou sure are versatile my friend. I really like the contrast in light between the top and bottom half of the canvas--very engaging.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where this is, but i feel the BC moist mountain air nice feel to this. i would like to see the trees and fore ground in reality. Maybe next workshop.
ReplyDeleteLove said, look deep into my eyes and see the reflections of your own soul.
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful colors of pure love that forever dance in eternal refraction!
The seemingly real illusions of tightness, pain and sorrow, dissolve when you look deeper within, and gently express and integrate your feelings.
Thanks everyone for your comments on this. Yes, a bit of a departure for me but more like an experiment. Ralph , thanks for your inspiring thoughts. Brian
